By the summer of 2008, Dawes had transformed a relatively small and unknown UK role-play group into a global organisation and unique Femdom brand. Second Life was an exciting conduit through which her voice could travel across continents, the significance of which she understood immediately. Dawes underlined her ‘arrival’ within the flourishing virtual scene by taking up residence within the magnificent Gothic SIM, Nijole.
Set over four distinct episodes, Nijole highlights Alania's hopes and aspirations through a hysterical fly on the wall documentary which captured the waifs and strays drawn to Her persona and the all consuming pyscho-sexual politics that would engulf ALANIAS.
Recorded live on location at the ALANIAS Nijole SIM during 2008 with additional 2020 material shot on location across Second Life.
Author's note - Nijole shall always be my Camelot. I’d imagined from the outset that this was how ALANIAS should look and feel, it just seemed obvious to me. Nijole was a Second Life SIM, the first true ALANIAS estate. Nijole – My wonderful, mysterious Gothic castle and I was very happy there. This is the story of those wonderful summer nights and the shenanigans that took place.
The four vignettes are very individual ‘live’ snapshots from the summer of 2008, a delightful period of growth and self realization, when the ‘Lady of Nijole’ broadcast a unique CFNM soap opera from within her castle walls. It marks the real beginning of ALANIAS as a recognizable brand. Live boi auditions were captured nightly, ‘Boi Selection’ was created, followed swiftly by the deliciously decadent ‘Life Class,’ as classic CFNM fantasies were relived within the Gothic splendour of the castle. But of course behind the drama there was DRAMA! As with any good soap, a few strong central characters quickly emerged, shone brightly then clashed and disintegrated. The summer ended in chaos and crisis as these relationships collapsed. The final episode, 'IV' was produced and directed by Margot Dalglish and came out of a schism, it’s a much darker story.
Nijole was definitely a hiatus and a bridging point for ALANIAS, where I took stock of the beast that was emerging before my eyes. It was the end of the beginning, a secret doorway into a shrouded world that once opened was never again closed.
